Victor's Casa Garcia Mexican Restaurant

October 2010   Victor's is one of our favorite Katy spots to dine

There certainly isn’t a shortage of restaurants in the Houston/Katy area, and everyone has their favorites. One of the spots Jackie and I frequent on a regular basis is Victor’s Casa Garcia Mexican Restaurant. Located on Fry Road in Katy (score one for the North side!), the folks at Victor’s know how to take care of their guests.

Texas Attorney General Sends Demand Letter to Halt Foreclosures

October 6, 2010

The Texas Attorney General Greg Abbott has sent a demand letter to 30 banks asking that these institutions immediately “suspend all foreclosures, all sales of properties previously foreclosed upon, and all evictions of persons residing in previously foreclosed upon properties” until these institutions have reviewed files and taken appropriate steps to rectify possible past errors in documentation. This is in response to certain employees engaging in “robosigning” of documents.

Why Do I Call Katy Home

October 4, 2010

I’m a Houston native. I love Houston, and other than the brief amount of time I spent getting my degree from Texas A&M (WHOOP!) I have always lived in or around Houston. I’ve been all over this great town, and my absolute favorite spot that I have lived has been Katy. I’m a current Katy resident, and I have been for quite a while. So you may ask, what’s so great about Katy? Let me tell you; It’s a big town with a small town feel.

A Victory for All Homeowners

September 25, 2010

There's good news on the flood insurance front...mainly that it looks like we'll continue to have it.  Homeowners everywhere can rest a little easier, knowing that the House of Representatives joined the Senate in passing an extension to the National Flood Insurance Program.  The bill is now going to the President for his signature.

The meetings will all be conducted from 6:30-9:00pm and will be held at the following locations:

These little bugs are becoming quite a problem in Katy. Many Katy homes have been inundated by these pesky little critters. The main problem in your home is that they are just a nuisance. For many homeowners Firethorne offers tranquil surroundings, great schools, and convenience to work and play. For one family who recently purchased a new home, Firethorne included a special “bonus”. Our congratulations go out to Wendy and Glenn Ruppert. They just purchased their dream home in Firethorne, and, as it turns out, they are the 1000th home buyers in the community and they have been rewarded with a $1000 check!

School Pride is Alive and Well in Katy

September 12, 2010

Its football season, and Friday and Saturday nights are all a buzz. Football is big in Texas and it doesn’t get any bigger than here in Katy. There is a winning tradition here that is the stuff legends are made of, but football isn’t the only thing that brings this community together.
