Monday will be a big day for the residents of Katy, particularly for those Katy households zoned to Cinco Ranch, Seven Lakes, and Taylor high schools. The Katy independent School District school board will be meeting on Monday, February 22, 2010 to vote on a high school rezoning plan for the 2010-2011 school year. Relax The Back Makes Life Better

Let’s face it, these are trying times. If you watch the news (which I can’t say I would suggest) then you are bombarded with doom and gloom. A sluggish economy, a record deficit, and high unemployment are all mentioned thousands of times a day. If that doesn’t give you enough to worry about then allow me to remind you that tax season is in full swing. It’s enough to stress you out to the point that your shoulders begin to ache, your head begins to throb, and sleepless nights can become the norm.

Having Some Fun at The Katy Home and Garden Show

Saturday was a chilly day. With temperatures in the 40’s and a brisk wind blowing, it was a great day to stay inside. So that’s just what we did. We stayed inside the Merrell Center to check out the 4th annual Katy Home and Garden Show and what a great idea that was! (I’m sure Jackie will be taking credit for it)

Best Burgers in Katy!

If you’ve lived in or around Katy, or visited for any length of time, then you know we have some amazing restaurants to enjoy. The area is rich with long time, locally owned establishments that offer great food at reasonable prices. I’m putting the locals on notice. There is an invasion happening right under your noses. And from the looks of things, this group is going to be here for a long, long time.

Katy Independent School District in the Top 10

The Katy Tigers made it to the state championship game for the third straight year, and though they fell a little short of their goal they can hold their heads high knowing that they represented the city of Katy with dignity and pride.  The Katy area can also be proud of another accolade...the Katy Independent School District ranked eighth in statewide TAKS performance out of the ninety five schools in the state of Texas with ten thousand or more students.
