Perry Homes Comes Through in the Snow!

Well, we experienced a major meteorological event for our area yesterday...we got snow in Houston!  For those of you that were just visiting or have recently moved from an area that sees this on a regular basis, Snow falling in Katy Texas on December 4, 2009it was certainly nothing worth writing about.  But for those of us who don't get this type of weather it was a big deal.  You see, we don't know quite how to handle this stuff.  It's cold, it makes driving difficult, and all the white stuff falling just messes with our sense of what is normal.

When we do see an event like this (actually all it takes is two snowflakes) the area shuts down.  Folks leave work, schools shut down, and life pretty much comes to a screeching halt.  It is really tough to conduct business on a day like yesterday, but I wanted to share with our readers an example of the kind of service we have come to count on from one of our favorite builders.

We had a client in town yesterday, and had a handful builders on the short list to visit.  This particular client had flown in early in the morning from the East coast, had meetings until late afternoon, and then had a small window of time to see homes before leaving to return home.  As you can imagine, when the snow started coming down folks started to leave the workplace to hunker down at home for a cold evening.  With schools letting out early, many had to leave to make sure the kids would be able to get home.  A couple of the builders we had on our list closed shop, but not the folks at Perry.

Now mind you, they were in the same snow storm (I use that term a little loosely) that we were.  They had the same issues everyone else did.  But they also knew our client only had the afternoon to see homes, and they made sure we were able to see everything our client requested.

Our first stop took us to Perry Homes in Cinco Ranch.  Christine McDonald met us at their model home, and proceeded to take us on the tour.  Our team has worked with Christine in the past and she has always been a pleasure to work with.  I had a conversation with Christine earlier in the day, and I know she had to change things in her schedule to accommodate us, but if I hadn't known I would have never guessed.  She didn't rush us, nor did she seem put out that we were the only folks looking at homes in the snow.  She gave us the same friendly service she would have given if we had arrived on a normal business day.

Our next stop was to see Rhonda Bastine with Perry Homes in Pine Mill Ranch.  Once again, we arrived at the model to find her ready and waiting to show us some homes.  This was personally my first time to meet Rhonda, and I have to say that the service we received gave me all the inspiration I needed to write this post.  Rhonda was so helpful, and took her time with us to make sure she understood exactly what we were looking for.  Rhonda gave us her complete attention and never once seemed put off by our questions or our timing, after was snowing in Katy!

Now this level of service may not wow you, but I left out one little tidbit of information that really makes it special to me.  Both of these ladies were off yesterday.  That's right; neither one of them had to be at work yesterday.  How many of you would be happy if you had to go to work on your day off?  Probably not many of us, but most can begrudgingly do it, and some of us can even pull off a smile or two while doing it.  But did I mention it was Katy!  These ladies braved the elements and came to work on their day off because that is when our client needed them.  The other builder's salespeople were no where to be seen.

Some people might say that this performance is a reflection of a tough real estate market where you have to scratch and claw for every sale.  I would argue that it is folks like this that keep Perry Homes ahead of the pack, and that service like this combined with a quality product is why The Jones Team keeps coming back to Perry Homes again and again.
