It’s that time again. The 29th annual Rice Harvest Festival will be held October 10-11, 2009 in downtown Katy. Now, if you’ve ever been to downtown Katy, then you probably have a big grin on your face. If you haven’t, don’t blink, you might miss it! The Rice Harvest Festival offers a weekend of family fun and features live entertainment, lots of food, and plenty of interesting craft booths for you to peruse.
The Great Debate
Do we buy a home now, or do we wait for prices to drop a little more? That is the great debate. While there are certainly circumstances that folks need to consider when deciding whether or not they want to jump into the market, I don’t think falling prices should be one of them. Everybody wants to get a good deal, and there is no crystal ball to look at when trying to figure out when housing has hit rock bottom. The only way to know you’ve found rock bottom is to study the numbers after the fact.
How do I prevent a clog from happening?
Keeping the ac drain line clean is actually quite simple. There is a pipe located near your ac drip pan that should be easily accessible to you. This line needs to be clean and free of algae so that the water can flow in the event of a problem with the main line. There are several schools of thought on what to use to keep the lines clean. I use about a quarter cup of bleach once a month in mine. If you are not a fan of bleach then vinegar and water can be used as a substitute.
On Saturday we spent some time at the Merrell Center in Katy enjoying the Home Décor and Remodeling Show. This show brings together a wide variety of companies related to, you guessed it, home remodeling and decorating. There are also booths that have nothing to do with remodeling, but were interesting to visit (it didn’t take Jackie long to find the booths featuring jewelry).
