I’m a Houston native. I love Houston, and other than the brief amount of time I spent getting my degree from Texas A&M (WHOOP!) I have always lived in or around Houston. I’ve been all over this great town, and my absolute favorite spot that I have lived has been Katy. I’m a current Katy resident, and I have been for quite a while. So you may ask, what’s so great about Katy? Let me tell you; It’s a big town with a small town feel.

There's good news on the flood insurance front...mainly that it looks like we'll continue to have it. Katy ISD is a highly accredited district. One of the many reasons this district thrives is the funding that it receives from Katy homeowners and taxpayers. Katy ISD has announced that three district-wide informational meetings will be hosted by the Board of Trustees in an effort to give community members a chance to learn more about a proposed bond referendum.
The meetings will all be conducted from 6:30-9:00pm and will be held at the following locations:

The current status of the program is still up in the air, however, passage of an extension may come before the September 30 deadline. This is an issue that has plagued us all year with a lapses in coverage lasting from a few days to several weeks. We can only hope that our officials in Congress are watching the weather as closely as we are.

Take a look at this lovely home located in the very desirable Cinco Ranch Community. It is nestled on a huge cul-de-sac lot and is conveniently located close to the nieghborhood park and pool. Just down the street you'll find the walking trail, and the elementary school is a short walk, and an even easier bike ride away.
For many homeowners Firethorne offers tranquil surroundings, great schools, and convenience to work and play. For one family who recently purchased a new home, Firethorne included a special “bonus”. Our congratulations go out to Wendy and Glenn Ruppert. They just purchased their dream home in Firethorne, and, as it turns out, they are the 1000th home buyers in the community and they have been rewarded with a $1000 check!

Its football season, and Friday and Saturday nights are all a buzz. Football is big in Texas and it doesn’t get any bigger than here in Katy. There is a winning tradition here that is the stuff legends are made of, but football isn’t the only thing that brings this community together.
